Open a View from Model

Introduction

In order to avoid complex design, you may want to break down a model and present it in different diagrams base on different contexts. Model sharing is designed to serve this purpose. You may create multiple views in different diagrams from a model. The properties of the views will clearly preserved as they belong to the same model.

When the design grows bigger, you may want to review the diagram which contains a particular model to get better understanding for that model. Now, it is possible to open a view from a model, you can even open a view from source code in SDE.

Belows we will show you how to open a view from model as well as source code in SDE.

Creating Multiple Views for Model

As mentioned before, a model can appear in multiple diagrams as multiple instances of view. To create a view from model, you can simply drag a model from Model Tree and drop to a diagram.
