Support of Folder Reference

Folder reference enables you to navigate to a specific folder from a model that you assigned the reference to. This feature is similar to file/URL/diagram reference in earlier release.

Adding a Folder Reference

  1. To add a folder reference, click on the References resource of a shape and select Add Folder... from the popup menu.
  2. In the References page of the specification dialog box, type the folder path in Path, or click on the ... button to select a folder. You may optionally provide a description in the Description field.

Opening a Folder Reference

  1. To open a folder reference, click on the References resource of a shape and select the folder reference item from the popup menu.
  2. The folder will be opened.

Working with User Path

A user path is a user-defined path that follows the workspace rather than the project. For instance, a user can map a documentation folder to “C:\Documentation” on his machine while another user maps the documentation folder to “J:\Projects\Documentation”. They can work on the same project and access the documentation path without any problem since the application is actually looking for the path that defined under the user’s workspace.

Configuring User Paths

  1. To configure user paths, select menu Tools > Options.... Select the User Path category in the Options dialog box.

  2. By default, paths of references are displayed as absolute paths.
  3. By selecting the Show User Path option, references that are defined with configured user paths with be shown in the format of ${USER_PATH}\RELATIVE_PATH.

Folder Referencing in Reports

  1. Folder references added to models will also appear in generated reports with navigable links.
