Optionally include Diagram Summary in Report Generation

Diagram Summary here refers to the table blocks shown in a generated report. A diagram summary table lists out the models that appear on a diagram, and provides linkage to them. While the summary table provides fast access to models, it may not be desired, especially for users who have certain predefined rules that guide the layout of reports. Now, it is possible to make the generated HTML, PDF and Word reports not to include the summary table.

Showing and Hiding Diagram Summary Table - How to?

The visibility of diagram summary table is an option, which can be set before generating a report. Let’s try to generate a PDF report from a project and see where this option can be set. Keep in mind that this option is available for other report types as well.

  1. Select Tools > Report > Generate PDF Report... from the main menu.

This shows the Generate PDF dialog box.

  2. Specify the output path, and other parameters to suit your preferences.
  3. Check or un-check Generate diagram summary to control the visibility of diagram summary in report.

  4. Press the Generate button.

If Generate diagram summary was checked, the report will contain diagram summary tables for each diagram. Here is a sample:
