Shape Editor

Although UML and BPMN are extensive and well-established notations, sometimes they still not rich enough to express your idea. There is a new feature called Shape Editor for designing notation (stencil). You can design your own notation or incorporate clip arts into your diagram.

Starting the Shape Editor

There are two possible ways to start the Shape Editor

  • Select Tools > Shape Editor... from the main menu.

  • Click on the Shape Editor button on the toolbar.

This starts the Shape Editor in a separate window.

Using the designed shape

  1. In order to use a shape designed in the Shape Editor, you need to show the Stencil pane, where the designed shapes are stored. To show the Stencil pane, select View > Panes > Stencil from the main menu.

  2. To use a shape, drag it from the stencil pane and drop it onto the diagram
