Selectable

While direct manipulation of diagram elements has become a must-have in all contemporary visual modeling tools, it would really be a drawback when all diagram elements are editable even when you don’t want them to be. The selectable option is thus introduced so you can make certain diagram elements read-only and focus on only the interested ones.

Setting Selectable

  1. Select one or more diagram elements, right-click on the selection and deselect Selectable from the popup menu to make the selected shapes non-selectable.

  2. When a diagram element is non-selectable (in this example, the “inventory” package), it will not detect mouse or key actions, so when you click or drag or it, it will be same as clicking or dragging on the white space of the diagram.

  3. To make a non-selectable diagram element selectable again, right-click on it and select Selectable from the popup menu.

  4. You may also right-click on the diagram and select Make All Non-Selectable/Make All Selectable from the popup menu to make all elements non-selectable/selectable.
