Creating Condition for Extend Relationship

The following example shows you how to create a condition for an extend relationship in Use Case Diagram.

  1. Here is an Use Case Diagram with Use Case 2 extended from Use Case 1.


  2. To insert a Note, please click on Note from the diagram palette.


  3. Place the Note to the desired position on the Use Case Diagram.


  4. Double-click the Note object, it is now in the editing mode.


  5. Enter the condition(s) for the extend relationship.


  6. Now, let’s associate the extend relationship with the Note. Click on Constraint from the diagram palette.


  7. Click on the extend relationship.


  8. Move the cursor to the Note object. Release the mouse when surrounds the Note is surrounded by a purple block.


  9. Condition is created.
