Testing VP Suite 2.1 Early Access without Affecting the Existing Installation
The release of the VP Suite 2.1 provides the CASE Tools, including Visual Paradigm for UML (VP-UML), Smart Development Environment (SDE) and DB Visual ARCHITECT (DB-VA) and DB-VA SQL. You can test the early access of the VP Suite 2.1 without affecting the existing installation.
Visual Paradigm for UML
If you want to test the early access of Visual Paradigm for UML 5.1 with your existing projects, you are suggested to perform the following steps for the first start-up of VP-UML 5.1 after installation.
Note: Project which is converted from older version to version 5.1 cannot be opened in older version of VP-UML.

By following the steps below, testing your existing project from the new workspace will not affect your existing project upon save.
Launch Visual Paradigm for UML 5.1. The
Workspace Launcher dialog box shows.
Specify a new workspace location for VP-UML 5.1 by using the

button.
Note: Please do not select the existing workspace as the workspace for VP-UML 5.1 to avoid affecting the projects in the current workspace.
Press the
Import Workspace... button to open the
Import Workspace dialog box.
Select the existing workspace for the Path by using the

OK. All the settings, user interface perspectives and other preferences defined in the existing workspace will be imported to the new workspace for VP-UML 5.1, and all projects saved in the existing workspace will be copied to the new workspace.
As the existing projects have been copied to the new workspace, you can test the project with VP-UML 5.1 by opening the project from the new workspace.
Remark: If you want to test the project which is outside the current workspace, please copy the project to the new workspace and open the project from the new workspace.
