Importing Settings from Existing Workspace
Visual Paradigm for UML (VP-UML) and DB Visual ARCHITECT (DB-VA), the VP’s products promote the usage of workspace to form a well-organized working environment for the tool.
A workspace is a repository of the UML projects, it also stores the settings, user interface perspectives and other preferences defined for the working environment.
If it is the first launch of the tool, you will be prompted by the Workspace Launcher dialog box, you may import the settings from the existing workspace if there is any.
Note: By default, the workspace directory (.vpworkspace) is created in your home directory. You can specify the workspace directory on your own.
You can check the Use this as the default and do not ask again option to set the specified workspace as the default workspace.
Click the
Import Workspace... button to open the
Import Workspace dialog box.
Specify the path of the existing workspace to be imported by using the

button, click
OK to confirm the path.
Click
OK on the
Workspace Launcher dialog box. All the settings, user interface perspectives, other preferences and all the projects saved in the old_workspace directory will be imported and copied to the specified workspace (.vpworkspace directory).
If the specified workspace already exists, you will be prompted by the
Confirm Workspace Overwrite dialog box asking you to confirm overwriting the existing workspace. If you press
Yes, all the setting of the specified workspace will be overwritten by the workspace to be imported.
