Changing Edition Using the Product Edition Manager

The need of changing edition is particularly necessary when you want to test the functionalities supported by different editions of the installed product(s). The Product Edition Manager for Visual Paradigm Suite (VP Sutie) offers a choice of which edition of the installed Visual Paradigm product(s) to activate.

From the Start Menu, select and start Product Edition Manager from Visual Paradigm group.

Execute %VP_Suite_Home%/bin/VP Suite Product Edition Manager 2.3.exe.

1. Click on the Edition drop-down menu of product for which you want to change the edition and select the desired one from the menu.
   
   
   
2. Click Next to confirm the settings. This saves the settings and displays the Complete page.
   
3. Click Finish to close the manager.
   

1. Browse for the bin folder in installation folder of VP Suite 2.3.
   
2. Right-click on the VP Suite Product Edition Manager 2.3 icon and select Properties from the popup menu. This displays the VP Suite Product Edition Manager 2.3 Properties dialog box.
   
   
   
3. Switch to the Permissions tab.
   
4. Check Execute to grant the right of execution to the Product Edition Manager.
   
   
   
5. Click Close to commit the changes and exit the dialog box.
   
6. Start VP Suite Product Edition Manager by double-clicking on VP Suite Product Edition Manager 2.3.
   
   
   

1. Change the current directory to VP-Suite-Installation-Directory/bin.
2. Start VP Suite Product Edition Manager by executing ./”VP Suite Product Edition Manager 2.3” .

Make sure that the file “VP Suite Product Edition Manager 2.3” has the “Execute” permission under the current user account. To grant the “Execute” permission to this file, you can execute the following command under the bin directory of ${VP_Suite_HOME}. chmod 755 “VP Suite Product Edition Manager 2.3”

3. Click Finish to close the manager.
