Problem on Starting Application with Floating License
There may have several reasons that cause floating license server unable to function. Points below are typical causes of not able to start application with floating license server. If you have received the message “Your License Key(s) are invalid, the application will exit!”, most likely at least of one of the problem below has occured.
Incorrect or missing key
Please ensure the floating license key file is placed under %Floating_License_Server_Application%\bin. Besides, please make sure you have restarted the server after you have equipped the license key. The way to restart floating license server is as follow:
For Windows User
execute shutdown_license_server.bat under %Floating_License_Server_Application%\bin
execute start_license_server.bat under %Floating_License_Server_Application%\bin
For Linux User
execute shutdown_license_server.sh under %Floating_License_Server_Application%/bin
execute start_license_server.sh under %Floating_License_Server_Application%/bin
Incorrect license key repository configuration
Please ensure you have specified a host ip that host a running floating license server with a valid port number (default = 1998). Please refer to How To Import Floating License Key for information on importing the floating license key
Invalid product version and edition
If the version or edition of product you are using does not match the version and edition you are licensed for, you will not be able to start the application. To check whether you are using a correct version and edition of product, you can run the Product Edition Manager to obtain the detail. You may refer to Changing Edition Using the Product Edition Manager for more details on changing edition.
If your license key is for version prior to the latest or the one shown in the Product Edition Manager, and if you are still covering from maintenance period, please email our support team and include your license information and they will send you a new floating license key for free.
If the edition does not match the one you are licensed for, please select the correct one from the Edition drop-down menu.
Networking problem
Please try to telnet the ip address of the machine that host the license server with the port number 1998.
e.g. telnet 127.x.x.xxx 1998
If you can telnet it, that means you can access the license key.
If not, there should be some networking problems, most likely the problem related to firewall.
